Holding a Family Through the Storm When illness struck

His wife, Moishe’s world turned upside down overnight. Hospital visits, treatments, and caring for their children left no room for work or for worrying about bills. There was no way he could be in three places at once. In that moment of crisis, we entered the picture, quietly. Through the generosity of our supporters, we placed Moishe on a company’s payroll so his family could stay afloat during the hardest months of their lives. At least money wouldn’t be added to his list of challenges. When his wife passed away, he faced unimaginable grief but not crushing debt. With his family financially stable, he was able to return to work, keep his home, and focus on rebuilding. We also arranged for the children to receive therapy and brought cleaning help into the home, giving them breathing room to heal.

One family, held together through tragedy not by chance, but by kindness.

A Simple Need, Quietly Met

Gedalya came to us, asking to borrow money not for something extravagant, but for a washing machine. Day after day, his wife was hauling heavy bags of laundry to neighbors and friends doing what she had to just to keep her family clothed. He simply didn’t have the cash on hand to replace the machine. Instead of offering a loan, we asked him which store he preferred and called to arrange for a new washing machine to be delivered straight to his home, so their basic necessity of clean clothes could be met.

What began as a request for a loan became a moment of dignity, where a simple need was met with care.

From Crisis to Stability

When Yosef lost his job, the eviction notice wasn’t far behind. He had stopped paying rent, and after 4 months the landlord took it to court. With nowhere else to turn, he faced the very real possibility of losing his home. We spoke to his landlord, and paid several months of back rent, giving him the breathing room to get back on his feet. Together with community partners, we helped him find a new job and before long, he was fully caught up on his payments. A few months later, as his child’s wedding approached, he was at risk of slipping back into financial strain. Once again, we stepped in and raised thousands to make sure he could celebrate the simcha without falling into debt.

One moment of intervention became the foundation for lasting stability

A Strong Start for a New Couple

The Goldsteins began their marriage full of hope. The wedding was beautiful, their families were overjoyed, and everything seemed to point toward a smooth future together. But as the first months unfolded, unexpected emotional and personal challenges began to surface. What started as small cracks grew heavier, and the couple found themselves struggling to navigate this new stage of life. They were young, newly married, and unprepared for the weight of what they were facing. Instead of letting those early struggles turn into lasting pain, we stepped in quietly. With sensitivity and care, we arranged and covered several months of professional therapy. This allowed them to focus on each other and to work through their challenges in a safe, structured way. The support gave them space to rebuild their trust and communication, and to lay the groundwork for a healthy relationship.

Today, they are a happy couple raising children, building their life together with renewed strength and stability.
